Anthony Poon

Did   You   Know?

Anthony Poon is a Singapore pioneer abstract artist who created artworks that play with colours and movements. Black and White (1970s), is a painting which uses simple lines, shapes and colours to create an optical illusion of space and movement.

Learning Activity 2

Black and White (1970) is a monochromatic artwork.

A monochrome or monochromatic painting is one created using only one colour or hue. It can use different shades of one colour but by definition should contain only one base colour.
