Did   You   Know?

A symbol is a mark, sign, shape, object or word that indicates, signifies, or is understood as representing an idea, object, or relationship.

E.g. A heart shape is the symbol of love.

The Olympic symbol consists of five interlaced rings of equal dimensions, used alone, in one or in five different colours, which are, from left to right, blue, yellow, black, green and red. The Olympic symbol (the Olympic rings) expresses the activity of the Olympic Movement and represents the union of the five continents (Africa, Asia, Australia, the Americas and Europe) and the meeting of athletes from throughout the world at the Olympic Games.
